Later in February and March, I was asked to accompany Michiel and Laura for a small run of acoustic Skin On Flesh shows in Artliners and Arcanoa, two more fantastic Berlin institutions. The Artliners show was live streamed on YouTube, which you can see here.

I’ve played on a couple of demos for Skin On Flesh which are still in the works, and I’m excited and hopeful to continue to work with this great band. I can’t wait to see where this project leads.

CHIIARA

I was asked to record guitars for Chiiara in April 2022. While Chiiara excels as a pop artists, she explained to me that she wanted this song, Toxic Positivity to feel a little more punk inspired, and with that sent over the stems. This was a fun job as when I sent Chiara my first draft of an idea, she loved it immediately and used those takes on the song. It turned out fantastic and I’m really happy with the results!

We played our first gig supporting Common Spit from Bristol, UK in September 2022 in Fred Zeppelin’s bar in Cork City. It was a fantastic night, and one we hope to try and repeat very soon.

January 2017 saw us release our first EP “Life. Never. Peace.” with our second single “Nevermore”, a grungy/blues inspired rock tune.

We decided to film one more video for one track with a folkier vibe and a nice linear story line. The music video for “John” came out August 2018.

October 2018 saw me play my last shows with The Stranger Phases before pursuing a different musical direction. I played my last show with the band in Central Arts in Waterford City, the venue we played our sold-out, first headline original show in January 2017 for the launch of “Life. Never. Peace.”

My time in The Stranger Phases was an great learning experience in the Irish music industry. I learned how to self release music, how to have music recorded and mastered, CDs printed, shows booked, contact radio stations, how to do press releases and much, much more. Not to mention how much my musicianship was improved by playing live music multiple times a weekend for 5 years.

Skin On Flesh

In December 2022 I was asked to play with Berlin based punk band Skin On Flesh for the BIMM Berlin End of Term Gig in Festsaal Kruezberg. Having been friends with Michiel and Laura of the band for a while at this point, I was very excited to be asked to be part of their live band. It was great to be part of such an energetic band and to play such a great venue in Berlin.

Sky Trumpets

Sky Trumpets are a five-piece instrumental rock/metal band from Cork, Ireland

I play guitar, engineer & produce for Sky Trumpets, an instrumental rock band based in the South coast of Ireland. Sky Trumpets began an exercise in composition and production for myself in late 2017.

Our first single “Thinking Hours” was released in April 2020 with a video I made as a response to the initial stages of the pandemic.

The Stranger Phases

From 2013 - 2018 I played guitar in The Stranger Phases, a rock band from Waterford, Ireland.

Our first self released single “Life Is For The Living” came out in late 2016.

Our self-released album “Now or Never” arrived to streaming platforms in June 2017. This project began in November 2015 with us entering Claycastle Studios in Youghal, Co. Cork for the first time. We finished around Spring 2017, when we finished the writing and production of the second half of the album resulting in a more mature sound as we grew more comfortable to the studio environment and playing with production techniques. One of my favourite songs from this time is “Matey”.

However, the time had come to move forward to a new style of music, one I identify more with as a guitarist. “Sky Trumpets” been in the works since late 2017 as I wrote instrumental guitar based music and self produced this on my laptop in my bedroom, based on bands like Russian Circles, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, and Explosions In The Sky.
